Privacy Policy
SA Jumping Castles (PTY) LTD (registration number 2021/588725/07), trading as SA Jumping Castles, is committed to handling your personal information lawfully and transparently. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can require of us. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
1. Who is responsible
SA Jumping Castles (PTY) LTD is the responsible party for the personal information described here.
Information Officer: Christo Jacobs
Email: info@sajumpingcastles.co.za
Telephone: 079 154 4391
Address: 14 Pommery Road, Nietgedacht, Fourways, Gauteng, South Africa
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to quote for and fulfil a booking.
- When you enquire: your name, email address, telephone number, and whatever you choose to tell us in your message.
- When you book: in addition, your delivery address, an alternative contact number, your preferred delivery and collection times, and the details of the event.
- For self-collection: a copy of your identity document and proof of address, and for company collections the business registration certificate and the driver’s identity document. These are required to release equipment against a refundable deposit.
- Payment records: the reference, amount and date of your electronic transfer. Payment is by EFT directly to our bank — we do not operate online card payments and we never see or store card numbers.
We do not collect special personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Where a booking is for a child, we deal with the adult making the booking.
3. Why we process it, and on what basis
- To quote, confirm, deliver and collect your booking. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To contact you about your booking — scheduling, access to the venue, and any problem on the day. Also contractual necessity.
- To keep accounting records. We are obliged to do this by law.
- To verify identity for self-collection. This protects our legitimate interest in equipment released against a deposit.
- To send you marketing — only if you have specifically asked us to. You can withdraw that at any time and we act on it immediately.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
4. Who we share it with
We share your information only where it is necessary, and only with:
- Our web and email hosting provider, which transmits and stores the messages you send through the contact form. They process it on our instruction and may not use it for anything else.
- Our bank, in order to receive and reconcile your payment.
- A public authority, where the law requires us to disclose.
If you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also carried by WhatsApp under their own terms and privacy policy. That is your choice to make, and you are welcome to use email or the telephone instead.
We do not transfer your personal information outside South Africa for our own purposes.
5. Cookies and your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you are willing to accept cookies beyond the ones the site needs to function. You can accept or decline, and declining is a single click — we do not make refusing harder than agreeing.
Cookies we set regardless of your answer. These are necessary for the site to work:
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
sajc_theme |
Remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance. Set only when you pick one. | 1 year |
sajc_consent |
Remembers your answer to the cookie question, so we do not ask again on every page. | 6 months |
Neither contains personal information and neither is used to track you across websites.
Cookies we set only if you accept. These cover website analytics and advertising measurement:
| Service | What it does | Set only if you accept |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) | Counts visits and shows us which pages are read and how people move through the site, so we can improve it. We do not use it to identify you, and your IP address is shortened before it is stored. | Analytics |
| Google Ads conversion measurement (Google Ireland Limited) | Tells us whether a visit followed one of our adverts, so we know which adverts are worth paying for. | Marketing |
These run under Google Consent Mode. Until you accept, the tag is loaded but explicitly forbidden from storing anything — no analytics or advertising cookie is placed on your device and no identifier is kept. If you accept only analytics and refuse marketing, that is exactly what happens: the two are controlled separately.
Google may process this information outside South Africa. Google Ireland Limited is bound by its own data-processing terms, and we do not send it your name, email address, telephone number or delivery address.
Changing your mind. Your answer is stored for six months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time using the privacy link at the bottom of any page. If you decline, no analytics or advertising cookie is set at all — we do not set them first and delete them afterwards.
6. How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiries that do not lead to a booking | 12 months | Long enough to follow up on a returning enquiry, then deleted |
| Booking, invoice and payment records | 5 years from the end of the relevant tax year | Required by the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011 |
| Identity documents given for self-collection | Until the deposit is refunded, then deleted | Needed only while our equipment is out with you |
| Marketing contact details | Until you withdraw consent | Deleted from our marketing list as soon as you ask |
When a retention period ends, we delete the information or de-identify it so it can no longer be linked to you.
7. How we protect it
We keep your information on access-controlled systems, restrict access to the people who need it to do their job, and use encrypted connections for this website. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach occurs that is likely to compromise your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
- ask us to delete information we no longer have grounds to keep;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent to marketing at any time;
- complain to the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these, email info@sajumpingcastles.co.za or call 079 154 4391. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for a straightforward request.
9. Complaints to the Regulator
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. Their current contact details and complaint forms are published at inforegulator.org.za.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the effective date is shown at the top.
